Standard Method is run by Joel G. Rodriguez — an engineer who has spent years inside operational businesses in metals, manufacturing, and construction products, building the systems their revenue runs on: ERP and order workflows, quoting and takeoff tooling, production handoffs, fulfillment, and the reporting owners actually read.
Why this company exists
Every operational business has the same secret: the software didn't fix it. The ERP went in, the CRM went in — and the estimating lead still rebuilds quotes from a spreadsheet, the shop still gets specs by forwarded email, and one person's memory is still the system of record.
After enough years watching that from the inside, the pattern was obvious. The problem is never the tool. It's the workflow nobody wrote down — and the manual labor quietly stitched around it. Standard Method exists to find that stitching, put a number on what it costs, and replace it with the smallest system reliable enough to trust.
AI made this work dramatically more effective. It did not change the rule: map the workflow first, or you're just automating confusion.
